A PROVEN LEADER

Françoise Bergan was elected to her first term of Aurora City Council in 2015 and re-elected in 2019. She ran on a platform of bold leadership and vision. She recognized Ward VI residents wanted abundant recreational opportunities, well-kept roads, retail shopping, safe neighborhoods, and good schools. In short, they deserved their fiscal fair share of city hall’s attention.

She pledged to advocate for families, neighborhoods, and business in her ward. She also promised to be a dedicated steward of tax dollars. She delivered on her promise. (Even while undergoing six months of chemotherapy in year one.) She has relationships with residents and HOAs, with top officials in city departments from Parks to Public Safety to Public Works, and with local business leaders that help improve Aurora every day. To her, being a council member is not a side job—it is her full-time job.

Her impact is evident in an ordinance that closed the legal loophole shielding the owners of rental homes operating as illegal marijuana grow houses. It is proven by miles of additional trails, new and improved parks, and millions of dollars slated for open spaces without raising taxes. Roads are being widened and extended. Formerly barren medians are now landscaped. New traffic signals and intersections are making daily driving safer. And Ward VI finally received its first recreation center.

But her work is not done. With your support, she is just getting started.
